Giovanni is CEO and Chief Investment Officer of the Family Office of Carlo De Benedetti (“CDB”). Previously he has been Senior Advisor to CDB.

For two years, Giovanni was Interim CEO of the Treofan Group, a global 500m-sales-company, active in the plastic sector controlled by Goldman Sachs SSG, EBF private equity and M&C.

Before that Giovanni worked in Investment Banking, for Merrill Lynch in Milan, where he specialized on structured products; in the M&A division of Crédit Agricole in Paris, and previously, for the M&A and Capital Markets divisions of UBS Investment Banking in London and Milan.

Giovanni began his professional career as Contract Professor with Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona, teaching mathematics and game theory. After a brief spell at Tel Aviv University, he left academia. Born in Milan in 1971, Giovanni graduated in Economics (Discipline Economiche e Sociali) from the Bocconi University of Milan, and has a Master of Science in Economics and Finance from the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona.

He is married to Leila and has two children Lorenzo and Isabella, and is a long distance triathlete.
